The research on biomaterials and tissue engineering in our group is carried out in the three sub-groups: on 1-3D Bioprinting, 2- Bio-inspired Materials for Tissue engineering 3-Drug Delivery Systems

Definition

Tissue engineering is a biomedical engineering discipline that uses a combination of cells, engineering, materials methods, and suitable biochemical and physicochemical factors to restore, maintain, improve, or replace different types of biological tissues. Biomaterials are materials intended to be used in contact with biological tissues and range from contact lenses to prosthetics for hip replacement. Research on biomaterials is also strictly connected to tissue engineering which aims at generating artificial tissues by combining cells with materials...
