Objective

We aim to accomplish the following goals; expanding surgical research collaboration, scientific dissemination, identifying gaps in surgical knowledge and research and publication of Scopus and PubMed indexed articles, providing opportunity for less experienced researchers and to give juniors insight into their field of interest in surgery. The International Surgical Research Association (ISRA) is a research interest group established within the Universal Scientific Education and Research Network (USERN) that aim at linking talented, enthusiastic researchers, and providing science without borders by connection of talented juniors with experts of the field from around the world.

Definition

<p>Surgical research is the keystone for advancement in surgical sciences leading to improvement in surgical outcome, patient survival, quality of patient care and minimization of post-operative complications. A multidisciplinary approach is required to establish this goal. In this interest group, we aim to perform relevant, good quality and scientifically based research focused on prevention and relief of human suffering due to surgical diseases. We aim to accomplish advancement in the fields of plastic, oncologic, colorectal, transplant, trauma, endocrine, pediatric, laparoscopic and robotic surgery. We hope that the activities of this group, would advance the care of the surgical patients, improve education and research in surgery, through multidisciplinary research and by transforming research innovation into improvement of surgical procedures.</p>
